Who we are

About the

Washington Dental

Access Campaign

Our Campaign

Over 50 organizations, including health care associations, consumer advocates, dentists, dental hygienists, senior groups, Tribal governments and educational institutions, have come together in support of increasing access to oral health care in Washington.

Our 2023 Legislative and Budget Priorities

  • Expand dental therapy to more communities in Washington: SHB 1678 would allow dental therapists to practice in community health centers across our state. This would increase access to dental care for those who need it most.

  • Increase funding for Skagit-Valley College's dental therapy education program: This budget item would invest in our state’s first CODA accredited dental therapy program and allow more Washingtonians to train as dental therapists in their home state.

  • Fund oral health capital projects at community Health Centers: This budget item would provide funding for seven community health center projects to expand oral health services to people with low-incomes, communities of color, and those in rural areas.
